Tarte is one of my favorite brands and their foundations always make my skin look flawless and dewy. I can't do without their Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer in the summer. However, I need more coverage than that for most of the year, so I was delighted to learn they were releasing a full coverage foundation!
Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation with SPF 15 is more like a mousse than a cream, yet it comes in a tube. So I suppose officially it's whipped. It's definitely not a sheer foundation, but it's not so pigmented that you feel or look like you are wearing a mask. It's available in five traditional colors, so one should hopefully work for you! It's also waterproof and oil-free. Score!

(Me 12 hours later.)
I found that this foundation wore for a minimum of 12 hours without needing a touch up. Even my blush is still in place. I've used no powder, no nothing. I'm impressed. Really impressed! If you need a long wearing foundation, with a nice amount of smooth and natural coverage, this is definitely worth checking out!

Hi G.-Read your blog daily-really enjoy it!What shade did you use from this foundation?I think this might work for me & I would like to go Sephora & get a sample.
ReplyDeleteHiya Michelle from MI! I used Fair. I don't think it's available at Sephora though... I believe it's available at the Q, but you never know. Perhaps they will carry it in the near future!
ReplyDeleteI just purchased mine at Sephora, but the Q is a better deal. On the Q, you get the foundation and brush for less than the cost of the foundation alone, retail. I love this stuff!! I just have to say that you are adorable and your skin is perfect!!
ReplyDeletethank you!!! so nice of you to say. I do love this foundation. Just be sure to wash your face at night!!
ReplyDeleteI love this stuff as well! If you get it at QVC it only comes in a few shades, but Tarte and Sephora are starting to carry it in a dozen shades :) I currently wear the medium and it works great, but I think the medium-light from Tarte's website would be perfect. I also apply it and blend it out with the brush. I switched to this foundation because I was sick of my old foundation smudging... this stuff stays put :)
ReplyDeleteI need coverage and love this foundation too. I'm going to change shades now that Tarte has more to offer. I laughed about the pup.....our little maltese, Lola constantly tries to lick this off my face too!! I wonder what the secret yummy ingredient is ?!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! What shade are you wearing? I would like to go to Sephora & get a sample.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the review! I was wondering if I should try this foundation after my Mac was finished. I'm just wondering, do you think it's good for people with oily/combination skin? I'm combination but in the summer I have to blot my skin all the time.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind a whipped foundation, then go for it! I do know it's oil free, so it shouldn't clog pores. I personally have very dry skin, so I can't answer from experience.
ReplyDeletewhat shade of foundation are you wearing in your photos?
ReplyDeleteYou have convinced me! Your hair looks great, BTW!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jess!
ReplyDeleteIs this the 'Fair' Shade? Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but notice that we have very similar skintones. What shade are you wearing?
